At last! My Contract!

Went to the mailbox yesterday. Expected bills and the rest of the fodder mailboxes usually spew. What did I find? A big manila envelope from New York City. Inside, MY CONTRACT!

I waited four months for this sucker. I read every dense paragraph and clause packed with impenetrable legalese, shivering with excitement when I came to certain portions (you know, advance, royalties, delivery dates, authors copies, foreign rights, movie rights...all the fun ones!).

It finally feels REAL. Someone is going to PAY me for my novel. Someone wants to publish my stuff. Did this realization blow anyone else's mind?

Oh that is so wonderful! I cannot WAIT until it is my turn to tell you guys that!

Congrats and celebrate all weekend long. Being published is a HUGE pat on the back for all those years you wrote and wrote and wrote when no one was asking you to. It is finally paid off! YAY!!! (And you have the best agent ever!)

Congratulations on putting your signature on that contract! A few more milestones, money in the bank, and you'll be seeing your hardback on the shelves. (And I think that's gonna be the best part.) Woohoo!

Hi Angie - I'm new to blogging...just started my own blog back in July. I really like your blog & wanted to say congrats on the contract. That is supremely exciting.

My first YA novel is in the hands of an agent as I type - the whole book - and I've been dying since July 17th.

Your story give me hope...give me a twinkle of inspiration. We'll see.

Good luck with EVERLASTING!
