Girly Movie Night!

My husband is leaving soon on a whirlwind motorcycle adventure with his dad, heading out West for about two weeks. They are excited (to put it mildly) and I am trying to think of ways to make myself excited about the prospect of being a single parent for a while. I came up with the idea of watching movies--lots and lots of movies--that my dear hubby won't watch with me because they're too "girly." I've got a few down so far, including STARDUST and BECOMING JANE. What else would you suggest?

On the writing front, I'm working on two WIPs at the moment. Trying to log 1,000 words a day on each. Exhausting! But fun.

This week on The 5 Randoms (http://the5randoms.wordpress.com) we're discussing Work Spaces and how they effect our creativity and production. Check out Robin Merrow MacCready's blog today!

Reverting

Back to my childhood, that is. I'm watching Disney's 1998 version of Tarzan with my kiddos right now ("right now" meaning every day for the 7 days we have the movie from Blockbuster!). This movie was not around when I was little--I'm more of the Little Mermaid generation. But I love this movie. I love the music. And it's making me want to read the real Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs (sp?). Anyone read it? What do you think?

Is it weird when...

all of my writing epiphanies occur while in the shower?

Seriously, it's happened numerous times. I'm just kinda sudsing up, conditioning the hair, and BAM! Revelation!

Today's shower epiphany regarded my snore-fest first chapter. I've known for eons now that it lacked a certain punch, tried rewriting it, adding to it, cutting portions of it, everything. And today, the answer just kinda popped into my head while rinsing my hair. And I am SO excited about it, that I have to now stop procrastinating with this blog and go and write it already :)

A Fresh Blog!

Wow, I'm blogging on blogger! After an intense discussion on Verla Kay's Blueboards, where Courtney Summers made a case for why Blogger is Better, I decided to check it out for myself. Turns out setting up my blog here was cheesecake. So, I guess now, I'm going to go explore and set up more parts of my blog...and if anyone knows how to crosspost to other blogs, can you tutor me? Thanks!
